AQUILEIA

Founded by the Romans in 181 B.C. and registered in the World Heritage List in 1998, Aquiliea was one of the biggest cities in the Roman Empire, as wee as one of the liveliest  the liveliest early Latin-Christian communities, one of the most important ancient ports of the Adriatic, starting point for the main commercial, cultural and military roads towards north-eastern Europe.

How to arrive

BY CAR
Exit the A4 motorway at Palmanova and follow the signs for Aquileia and Grado along the SR 352.
Parking (for a fee):
– VialeStazione
– Via Curiel
– Via deiPatriarchi

BY TRAIN
Cervignano-Aquileia-Grado railway station. From there, continue by public transport or take a taxi to Aquileia and get off at the “Aquileia Centro” station.

BY PLANE
Trieste International Airport. From there, continue by public transport to Aquileia or take a taxi and get off at the “Aquileia Centro” station.
