Conference. René Goguey (1921-2015) is one of the pioneers of aerial archaeology. He dedicated over half a century to perfecting this technique. He flew over numerous regions in France and abroad to identify archaeological traces from his airplane that were only visible from the air. In 2015, he donated over 70,000 physical slides and nearly the same number of digital copies to the department.
