The aim of the History Institute is to promote the research about the remote and recent Past, and to know and understand the changes and interactions of the human societies along the timeline.
The Bracara Augusta Foundation (FBA) is a legal person governed by private law, non-profit, of public utility, instructed by public deed on March 18th, 1996. It´s founders include, the city of Braga, the University of Minho, the Portuguese Catholic University and the Metropolitan and Primacial Chapter of Braga.
Today, it`s the consortium of institutions whose main mission is, for the next years, the consolidation and definition of their own agenda, in the establishment of bridges and of interactions with all of the organizations and agents that have the cultural patrimony of Braga as domain of it`s activitie and goal. The City, the University of Minho, the Portuguese Catholic University and the Chapter of the Sé of Braga, constitute, this way, the primal force of a consortium that has, as it´s goal, the cultural cooperation and the development of projects and actions related to the investigation, conservation and promotion of the patrimonial and monumental wealth of Braga.
